Starting early in the morning we arrive at the Lejía lagoon where we will go to the foot of the volcano where we will begin the ascent. After an ascent of approximately 3 to 4 hours we will arrive at the active crater to observe the fumaroles that come out of the interior. Optionally you can reach the summit by ascending 40 minutes more.
SALAR DE TARA
At 135 kms from San Pedro de Atacama and at an average altitude of 4,000 m.s.
The route begins on the international road Paso Jama, deviating from the route. The stops are the Salar de Pujsa, the monks of the Pakana, rock formations as the guardian of Tara. Then we continue to the Salar de Tara surrounded by large rock formations called the cathedrals, where it is possible to see migratory birds and vicuñas.
GEYSERS DEL TATIO
The third largest geysers field of the world, located at 97 km at the north of San Pedro de Atacama. At 4320 above the sea level.
There are about 80 active geysers, that can reach 6 meters high.
Also is posible to see plants and wildlife with a wide variation of species.
Trekking connects the andean villages of Machuca and Río Grande travelling through the beautiful Peñaliri river valley, where we can observe andean wildlife, former villages and archeological areas.
CATARPE-VALLE DE LA MUERTE
From San Pedro de Atacama we will reach Catarpe’s valley and we will pass across the cordillera de la sal, through a tunnel that passed by an Antique path that connects San Pedro de Atacama and Calama city, reaching a plateau where is posible to watch the amazing geological formations that composed the cordillera de la sal.
The circuit of the Altiplanic lagoons is one of the most extraordinary destinations of San Pedro de Atacama. We go up about 300 kms through Miñiques and lagoon Miscanti lagoon are crossed.
Then we visit Red Stones and we go full to meet the fauna of Tuyajto with a height of 4,000 m.s.n.m.
El Toco is a currently inactive volcano of 5,600 meters above sea level, considered a high mountain ascent. It is located in the Central Andes, province of Antofagasta, Chile, in front of the town of San Pedro de Atacama.
